Charlotte Denton
Charlotte is the founder of Sea Star Productions. Born and raised on the Saanich Peninsula, Charlotte began performing at age three and grew up immersed in Vancouver Island’s performing arts community. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, she worked professionally as an actor, singer, producer, casting director, and model across Canada, England, and Australia.
A five-time Gold Medal recipient in Solo Musical Theatre at the BC Performing Arts Festival, Charlotte’s career highlights include appearing in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, producing and performing in sold-out shows internationally, and teaching Musical Theatre at Australia’s prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP).
Charlotte is passionate about creating a supportive, fun environment where students feel safe to take risks, build confidence, and discover their voices. She and her husband, Jackson, returned to Sidney in 2024, where they are now raising their daughters, and Charlotte is thrilled to reconnect with the community that helped shape her. Sea Star Productions is her dream, and she is grateful every day to do what she loves with such amazing humans!
Cadee Emel
Cadee has been part of Sea Star Productions since its very beginning. She is Charlotte’s first hired staff and TA and one of Sea Star’s most invaluable members, growing alongside this loving vibrant community. With a deep love for Musical Theatre, she has performed in multiple productions including Newsies, Clue, The Outsiders, and Once Upon a Mattress, where she developed her passion for storytelling through song and character.
Her love of singing began at a very young age, spending countless hours in the living room singing The Little Mermaid with her mom. Those early moments sparked a lifelong dedication to music and performance that continues to shape her career today.
Cadee is currently studying with the Institute of Vocal Advancement, where she is deepening her understanding of vocal technique and healthy voice use. As a growing vocal coach and performer, she is passionate about helping students find confidence, joy, and freedom in their voices. She strives to create a supportive and encouraging environment where young performers feel safe to explore, take creative risks, and truly shine on stage.
Katrina Nassichuk
Katrina grew up on the Saanich Peninsula and began dancing at age 4. As a teenager she decided to pursue ballet more seriously and moved to a pre-professional ballet school in Victoria, training with some of western Canada's leading dance educators, earning awards with performances at festivals and competitions and high marks in her Cecchetti ballet examinations. After high school she performed professionally with Ballet Victoria part-time while completing her Bachelors of Psychology degree at UVic. She made the switch into dance teaching and pursued her Associate teaching diploma through the Cecchetti Society of Canada, completing her training at Victoria Academy of Ballet. As artistic director of a studio back on the Saanich Peninsula she grew the studio into an award-winning and highly regarded training program, who's students achieved high marks at competitions and in examinations and who were accepted into professional training and performance programs. But more importantly she was able to develop a studio that paired high-quality technical training with a ground-breaking environment of personal growth and wellness that viewed each student as a person first, and then as a dancer. After becoming the studio co-owner she was instrumental in establishing a studio culture of respect, care and compassion for each child where their individual goals and personal health and safety was paramount and where training standards remained high. She is passionate about high-quality training that utilizes the most up-to-date data in dance science, child development and educational pedagogy to ensure physical safety and flourishing while also ensuring that students' emotional and mental wellbeing is equally and intentionally cultivated. Now bringing her experience and passion to Sea Star, she hopes to inspire more students to love dance and to feel confident moving in class and onstage!
Lily MacGregor
Lily is a choreographer for Sea Star Productions. She began working with the company in summer of 2024 as an assistant choreographer for our production of "Seussical Jr.", and has found such a joyful, uplifting community here at Sea Star. Lily grew up on the Peninsula, dancing at Allegro Performing Arts Centre for 13 years. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering at the University of Victoria, where she continues to dance as a member of the UVic Dance Company. Lily has taught dance classes at Allegro, as well as other studios around Victoria. Lily is extremely grateful for each and every opportunity she gets to choreograph and teach here at Sea Star. She has loved watching these kiddos learn and grow over the past few years, and can't wait to see what's to come!
